The Mission of the Madison River Foundation:
We will endeavor to preserve, protect and enhance the Madison River ecosystem for the mutual benefit of wildlife and all people who use it by employing professional expertise and advocating worthy public policy to ensure the future well-being of this valuable resource.
Our Key Objectives are:
- Identify the Madison River Foundation as a primary recipient of donations from groups and individuals that share common cause with the organization.
- Direct, sponsor and/or participate in projects and initiatives that preserve and protect the natural qualities of the Madison River watershed.
- Become an advocate for the Madison River on public policy issues that affect the environmental quality of the watershed.
- Help maintain public access for those seeking a quality outdoor experience.
- Maintain organizational integrity by establishing superior operational standards.
The Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival is the primary fund raising project for the Madison River Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing the Madison River ecosystem. All proceeds from the Festival go to support the Madison River Foundation and its work. The Foundation was formed in 2003 to be the local “voice of the river” and extend the necessary assistance to those groups and individuals that share our commitment.
Since that time, the Foundation has focused support efforts on projects that improve in-stream habitat in feeder tributaries that flow into the main channel of the Madison River. These projects have had a positive impact on the flow characteristics, bank degradation and spawning habitat of the stream. The future is laden with more opportunities to further benefit the Madison River. The Foundation plans to be in the forefront of efforts to maintain this resource for future generations.

Date of the Madison River Foundation Gala Benefit Altered
Traditionally, the Madison River Foundation Gala Benefit has been held in conjunction with the Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival. This arrangement presented significant challenges for Festival organizers in terms of being able to focus resources on both events.
The revised date for the 2008 Gala Benefit is now scheduled for Friday, June 27. More details will become available in the coming months when a venue location is selected, key-note speaker designated and other activities decided upon.
